Lake Louise

While in Canmore we decided to do a bit of sight seeing.  Ed and the kids had never been to Lake Louise so we went to check it out.  It really is spectacular!

We would have loved to take a canoe out on the water but the line was too long to get a canoe.  Next time!

We decided to try going up to the tea house which was a 3.4km hike.  We thought we could do this and still get back in time for supper.  IMG_4309 IMG_4310

It was a long walk for little legs!  (And mine too.)  It was all up hill the entire way and we didn’t quite make it all the way to the top.  I have been wondering ever since how close to the top we were?  Maybe it was only just around the next corner?  Oh well, next time with a bit longer legs.

This is as far as we made it but it was an awesome view.  Adam was starting to get a blister so he walked part of the way down with his shoe off!  Poor guy!IMG_4308

There was a wedding going on right in the courtyard behind us and we watched the bride walk down the aisle.  There was even a dog in the wedding party and he had a black vest on.  Very handsome.  It seemed weird to us that the wedding was so public!  There were hundreds of people watching it that were not invited guests and the minister spoke through a speaker so that everyone any where near the Lake could hear.  A little too much for me.

We rewarded ourselves with ice cream…. Isn’t he a face only a mother could love!
