Company

Ed’s mom and dad were here a couple of weekends ago.  I was sick with a sinus infection so I didn’t quite get out to the baseball game they played, but from all reports they had a fabulous time.  Adam came in and told me he was even sweating in the shade!  It feels like a long time ago that it was warm enough outside to sweat.  Welcome to fall?!?  Here are some pictures.IMG_4535 IMG_4525  IMG_4531

Then they went to the playground for a little fooling around.

Busy!

Life is busy these days, I am not sure how the time is going so fast but thought I would post a scan of an article.  The article is about my handsome husband.

It was in the Chamber of Commerce magazine that goes out quarterly, I am not sure how far the readership goes but I am really proud!

Guess who started Highland Dancing again?

Me!

I started last night and had such a wonderful time.  Isla is starting this year and they also offered an adult class, so I decided what the heck.  It will be a great way to get in to shape and have some fun.  It is funny I have not danced in 20 years, the last time I danced was at my Grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, but it sure didn't feel that long ago.  I found my old shoes that have not been on my feet in 20 years and away I went.  It is so neat to be in a dance studio again, being able to talk that language again, to have something in common with people.  It was so much fun, I may even enter a competition in June.  The Red Deer Highland Games are at the end of June and I may just enter, kind of like my 40th birthday present to myself.  So now I just have to make sure that my body will cooperate and let me.  I have to admit that today I am a wee bit sore, but I am hoping that that will get better instead of worse!

I am really excited for Isla as well, she starts dance tomorrow!

Mommy Day

IMG_4517

Look at that little face!  We get to spend our Thursday mornings together.  I have arranged my schedule so that I can take Monday mornings so that Isla and I can do our music class together and then have our Thursday mornings to do whatever we want.  Our first one was a grocery shopping trip and she was not excited about that but hopefully we will not have to do that every time.

I have a deal with the kids that one of them has to come with me when I go grocery shopping.  I tell them that I need the company, just so that I can  have a little time with each of them by themselves.  I learn lots of things when it is just the two of us in the van or at the grocery store.

She is having a wonderful time at school which is wonderful.  She even made a new friend which is even better.

First Day of School

First it was Adam’s turn.  I took Isla to the sitters and then we got Adam all duded up and took him to his first day of Grade 2.

So darn handsome!

I did his supply shopping online so it was all waiting for him when we got to school  But remind me next year to go and get it before the first day of school so I can label!  Whew, I labelled a lot last night!  Does he seem small to you?  He looked little to me.

A little wink and he was good to go.  I love that little face.

And this one just seems so grown up?  How did this happen?

I just couldn’t resist this coat.  I wish it came in my size.

They kind of spelled her name wrong but they were getting it all fixed up for her when I went to pick her up.  She only went yesterday afternoon and they have staggered  entry so she does not go back until Tues.  She was ready to go again today.
